Launching diary.by

August 17th 2021 · 170 words, about 1 minute read

Two days I began the journey that is launching Diary.by publicly following quite a bit of work and preparation that went on in the background (initial commit was on July 9th), and that's already after I had a lot of the "building blocks" ready to go from other, non-public, projects that I was working on since the beginning of 2021.

While the launch generally went as well as it could, it certainly could've went better (HN article received no attention, for example).
That being said, this is understandable and was expected since I am not a seasoned sailor when it comes to the rough waters of public product launches.

A lot of things are still being worked out both maintenance-wise and development-wise, and this is where user feedback is worth it's weight in gold.

All in all, this was a great, fun and enlightening experience from the initial idea all the way to pressing the "Publish" button and I'm hoping that neither I nor diary.by will lose momentum.

Thanks!
