How does one come to terms with the fact that they're growing old?

The mind is ready. The mind says,"Go! Go! Go!"
But the body cannot keep up.
The body has reached it's limits of endurance.
Years of injuries and scars lay their claim.

Every injury takes longer to heal.
Every downtime takes longer to spring back up.
One is a heartbeat away from life-altering injuries, or death.

And no amount of training can make up for a lifetime of injuries.
One can train and prepare as much as they can, as much as they want. And all you need to take them down is a fatal blow in their weak spot.

It takes superhuman strength to step back, when this is all you've ever known.
Distractions don't work.
Finding other jobs or hobbies is futile.
This is painful.
The only ones capable of understanding are those who've dedicated their entire lives toward something. People who have been battle-tested, and survived.
